The Department of Biochemistry organized BIOZONE 2025 on 21st August, 2025 at Carreno Hall and Oasis Hall, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) Tirupattur. The event aimed to provide a platform for students, researchers, and academicians to explore recent trends and innovations in biochemistry, focusing on sustainability and advanced therapeutic approaches. The programme commenced at 9:00 am with a prayer song followed by the welcome address delivered by Mrs. J. Reshma, PG Association President. The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Rector & Secretary, released the conference proceedings/book and honoured the Ananda Vikatan Student Reporter.
The souvenir of BIOZONE 2024 was released by Rector Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter SDB, and resource persons received souvenir copies. In the session I, Introduction of Resource Person: Dr. A. Poongothai, PG Head (i/c) Speaker: Dr. C. Sharmila, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, SRM Arts and Science College, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu.Topic: Innovative Approaches for the Sustainable Removal of Emerging Water Contaminants Vote of Thanks: Mr. Sathish. M, PG Association Secretary. Simultaneously, oral presentations were conducted in Carreno Hall and poster presentations in Oasis Hall, providing a platform for students and researchers to present their findings.
In the session II, Introduction of Resource Person: Dr. I. Niyas Ahamed, UG Head Speaker: Dr. L.Alphonse , Assistant Professor , Department of chemistry, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur.Topic: Novel Conjugated Triazine Centred Curcumin Metal Complexes:Their Photophysical Studies And Biomedical Application To Anti-Cancer (Oral&Skin Activities Vote of Thanks: Mr. Agathiyan. S, UG Association Secretary.The programme concluded with the Valedictory Address by Rev. Dr. S. Bharathi Bernadsha, SDB, Academic Advisor and Director, CIBI.The results of oral and poster presentations were announced by Dr. I. Niyas Ahamed, UG Head. The session ended with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Govindarajan, UG Association President, followed by the National Anthem.
