Platinum Jubilee Inauguration Celebration

“A Legacy of Faith, Wisdom, and Service: 75 years of Excellence in Education.”

 Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, celebrated its Platinum Jubilee inauguration on 8th  September, 2025, marking 75 years of excellence in education and service (1951–2026) with great devotion, pride, and festivity.

              The day began with a Solemn Holy Mass at 9:30 A.M. in the Kamarajar Arangam, presided over by Rev. Dr. Don Bosco Lourdusamy, SDB, Chairman, Rev. Fr. Antonyraj SDB, along with Rev. Fr. Maria Soosai, SDB and Rev. Fr. C.M. Varghese SDB, former Principals of the institution. The Eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by several Salesian priests.

          The formal inauguration of the Jubilee took place at 11:00 AM, beginning with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, a Prayer Song, and a Welcome Dance by students of Don Bosco School of Excellence.

               Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, Rector and Secretary, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to the Salesians, staff, alumni, and students who have contributed to the college’s growth.

              A video presentation on the history of the college, prepared by Mr. A. Maria Micheal Nithyn, Assistant Professor, Department of History and Dr. A. John Martin, Head, Department of BCA, highlighted Sacred Heart’s rich journey of academic excellence and social commitment.

               Alumni and distinguished guests, including Dr. C. Thirugnana Sambandham, alumnus of the 1989 batch and currently Dy. Project Director, Aeronautical Development Agency, Bengaluru, shared heartfelt reflections on his student days, emphasizing how Sacred Heart laid the foundation for his professional success.  

               Dr. V. Rajendran, Former Head of the Department of Commerce, spoke on the growth trajectory of the college, highlighting its academic achievements and social outreach and Rev. Dr. Antonyraj, SDB, former Principal and Rector, shared memories, reflections, and insights into the challenges and opportunities ahead. Rev. Fr. Joanes, SDB, alumni, shared his memories as a past pupil at Sacred Heart College.

              The Platinum Jubilee Address delivered by Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antonyraj, SDB, Principal, outlined the vision for the future, highlighted the activities planned for the Platinum Jubilee year ahead, emphasizing holistic education and social responsibility. It was followed by the official inauguration of the Platinum Jubilee year by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, Rector and Secretary.

     Cultural programmes, including dance performances by students and a medley by the College Choir, added colour and vibrancy to the occasion.

     The celebrations concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Rev. Fr. Daniel Ambrose, SDB, Vice - Principal (Administration, Shift I), followed by the College Anthem.

     The Platinum Jubilee celebration was not only a commemoration of the past but also a commitment to carry forward the mission of “Empowering Minds and Transforming Lives.”
