The AICUF (Shift – II) of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur organized an Invited Talk on Today’s Education vs. Mental Health for the AICUF students on 10th September 2025 in Thanthai Periyar Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The resource person for the session was Mr. Anand Jeya Prakash Y., Assistant Professor of Life Education, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. In his address, he stressed that while education emphasizes academic excellence, it often neglects students’ emotional and psychological needs. He spoke on the rise of stress and anxiety due to academic pressure, the impact of social expectations, and the influence of technology on students’ mental health. He also suggested practical strategies like time management, counseling, mindfulness, and balancing academics with recreational activities. The session was highly interactive, as students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their experiences. The session was well coordinated under the guidance of the Programme Officers, Mrs. C. Elavarsi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, and Mr. Kamesh U., Assistant Professor of English. The invited talk proved to be enriching, sensitizing the students to the importance of balancing academic pursuits with mental well-being.
