The Department of Computer Applications (UG), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), organized a National Level Workshop on “React Native & Firebase” on 10th September 2025 at Carreno Hall. The workshop saw an enthusiastic participation of 373 students and professionals, comprising 108 external participants, 265 internal students. The inaugural session was graced by Rev. Dr. Samson Shanmugam, who delivered the inaugural address emphasizing the importance of mobile app development skills in today’s digital era. On this occasion, Mr. Kasi, an alumnus of the department, also shared his expertise and insights on the challenges faced in the IT industry, motivating participants to prepare themselves for real-world opportunities.

The technical sessions were conducted by Mr. Nishanth Saravanan (Founder & CEO, Q-Techx Solutions; Full-Stack Developer) and Mr. Vasanth L (Full-Stack Developer, Q-Techx Solutions). The sessions provided hands-on training covering various aspects of mobile app development. Participants were introduced to React Native and Firebase, followed by detailed guidance on setup and installation. They also learned about styling techniques using Stylesheet and Flexbox, and gained practical experience in Firebase authentication and integration within React Native projects.The workshop concluded with the Valedictory Address by Rev. Dr. John Borg, who appreciated the organizers, resource persons, and participants for their dedicated involvement.
