Event Details

The 49th Graduation Day was held at Sacred Heart College on October 27, 2025. It was a remarkable event that celebrated the academic accomplishments of the graduating students. The ceremony took place in Kamarajar Arangam at 10:30 a.m. The occasion began with an impressive academic procession, of Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, the Secretary, Rev. Dr. Maria Antony Raj, the Principal, Deans; Vice-Principals, Heads of various departments, and the distinguished chief guest, Dr. S. Vincent, Member Secretary of the Tamil State Council for Science and Technology, (TNSCST) Chennai.

The event commenced with the Thamilzh Thai Vazhthu. Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, the Principal, extended a warm welcome, expressing gratitude to all attendees, particularly the graduating students and their families. The principal’s report highlighted the college's notable academic achievements and progress.

The Chief Guest, Dr. S. Vincent, officially inaugurated the Graduation Day, marking the formal commencement of the proceedings.

In his address, he emphasized the significant responsibilities shouldered by the graduates as they transit from academia to the wider world. He urged the graduates to carry forward the values instilled at Sacred Heart College—integrity, diligence, and a spirit of service. Dr. Vincent highlighted the importance of commitment not only to one’s profession but also to the nation, encouraging graduates to contribute meaningfully to society and to uphold ethical standards in all endeavours.

 

He expressed pride in the graduates’ accomplishments and reminded them that their association with Sacred Heart College is a lifelong honour. Dr. Vincent called upon them to cherish their alma mater, remain engaged with its community, and contribute to its future growth. He inspired the graduates to pursue lifelong learning, embrace challenges with courage, and strive for excellence in all spheres of life.

Following this, the candidates for graduation were presented. The chief guest conferred degrees upon the students, marking the culmination of their academic journey. The graduates then took a solemn pledge, committing to ethical conduct, continuous learning, and responsible contributions to society. The dissolving ceremony followed, symbolizing the students' transition from learners to alumni, bidding farewell to their academic life while embarking on new adventures in their personal and professional realms. A total of 1028 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees were bestowed upon the deserving graduates, marking a significant achievement for all.

The event concluded with the National Anthem.
