Event Details

The Orientation Program of Youth Red Cross (YRC) Shift-II and an Invited Talk on World Population was successfully held on 18th July 2025 at 10:30 AM in Oasis Hall, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The event was organized by YRC Shift-II under the guidance of the Program Officers, Dr. L. Anandaraj, Assistant Professor of Physics and President of YRC Shift-II, and Ms. R. Edithmelody, Assistant Professor of English and Vice-President of YRC Shift-II.

The program commenced with a soulful prayer song, setting a serene tone for the event. The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. F. Fathima Firdose, Joint Secretary and student of II B.A. English, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, and all the participants.

Dr. L. Anandaraj, the President, introduced the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour, following which they were felicitated by both the President and the Vice-President. Dr. Anandaraj also delivered an insightful presentation highlighting the previous year’s activities of YRC and the plans for the upcoming academic year.

The Chief Guest, Mr. S. Kishor Prasad, District Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Tirupattur District Branch, addressed the gathering with an enlightening talk on the purpose and benefits of YRC, encouraging students to actively engage in its initiatives.

Following his address, the Guests of Honour, Tmt. Kalaivani A, Managing Committee Member, and Tmt. Amala Mary S, District Coordinator, delivered a detailed and thought-provoking talk on World Population. They discussed the impact of population growth on the current global scenario, urging students to reflect on the importance of sustainable development and population awareness.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. S. Mounutheen, Secretary and student of II B.A. History. He expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers, appreciated the informative talks by the guests, and acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of the YRC students.

The event was smoothly hosted by Ms. S. Melchisha, student of II B.A. English, who served as the Master of Ceremony.
