The Youth Red Cross, Shift II, hosted an inspiring invited talk on Zero Investment Startup on August 21, 2025, at 10.30 AM in Mother Teresa Hall. The event was organized by YRC Shift-II under the guidance of the Program Officers, Dr. L. Anandaraj, Assistant Professor of Physics and President of YRC Shift-II, and Ms. R. Edithmelody, Assistant Professor of English and Vice-President of YRC Shift-II. The session aimed at showing students that entrepreneurship is possible without heavy financial support.

The program opened with a soulful prayer song. Mr. Mounutheen S. (II B.A. History) hosted the session, while Ms. Asma S. (II B.A. English) extended a warm welcome to everyone present.

The Vice President of YRC, Ms. Edith Melody, introduced the Resource Person, Dr. James I., Assistant Professor of Commerce, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur. Dr. James was felicitated by Dr. L. Anadaraj, President of YRC, before addressing the gathering.

In his talk, Dr. James captured the participants’ attention by explaining how small ideas can turn into big opportunities without any investment. He outlined the key steps, potential benefits, and challenges of zero-investment startups, sharing success stories from South India that are now documented on YouTube. One of the most striking examples was the coconut-waste business, which highlighted how creativity can generate income and sustainability.

The session ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Sanjay (II B.A. History). The talk left the participants motivated, showing them that entrepreneurship is not just for those with capital, but for those with ideas and determination.
