Department of Extension Education and Services of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized the IVDP Koseley Memorial Scholarship Distribution Programme on 28 November 2025 at 11.30 am in Pope Francis Hall. The event was graced by Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Mr. Kulandai Francis, Founder-President of the Integrated Village Development Project (IVDP), Krishnagiri, whose generous contribution supported the education of deserving students. A total of 166 students, including Orphan, Semi-Orphan, Physically Challenged, and Ultra-Poor categories, received scholarships amounting to Rs. 14,05,000/-, marking a remarkable gesture of compassion and service.
The programme commenced with a prayer song presented by Mr. Henston & team from the Department of English, followed by a warm welcome address by Ms. A. Shalini, M.A. Tamil (First Year). Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter SDB, Rector and Secretary of Sacred Heart College, delivered the felicitation address, appreciating IVDP’s longstanding commitment to social upliftment. The Honouring of the Chief Guest and the entire scholarship distribution process were gracefully coordinated under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, Director-DEEDS (DB Centre) ensuring the smooth flow of the event.
In his inspiring address, Mr. Kulandai Francis reiterated his life mission with the message, “Empowerment of the poor is my goal, for them I live.” He personally distributed the scholarships to the beneficiaries, which included 11 orphan students, 133 semi-orphan students, 2 physically challenged students, and 20 ultra-poor students from other states. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. J. Aabitha Banu, M.A. Tamil (First Year), expressing heartfelt gratitude to IVDP, the management, and all who contributed to the success of the programme. The event concluded with the College Anthem. The Master of Ceremony was effectively handled by Dr. Thirupathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, who led the programme with clarity and elegance.
