A State Level National Cadet Corps (NCC) Conference was conducted on Thursday, 04 December, at Kamarajar Arangham in Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, as part of the college’s 75th Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The event witnessed the participation of nearly 600 NCC cadets representing more than twenty colleges across the state. The conference was graced by Colonel Rajiv Kumar, Commanding Officer of 12 Tamil Nadu Battalion, Salem, who delivered a special address. In his keynote speech, he elaborated on the various career opportunities available in the Indian Army and other defence forces, and engaged in an interactive session with the cadets. Following him, Lieutenant Colonel Prakash, Administrative Officer of the 12 Tamil Nadu Battalion, addressed the gathering as a special guest. He explained in detail the priority benefits, salary structure, and other privileges offered to those serving in the armed forces, in a manner easily understandable to the cadets.
The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Praveen Peter, Secretary of Sacred Heart College, who delivered the felicitation address. Rev. Dr. Maria Antonyraj, Principal of the college, welcomed the gathering and delivered the inaugural address. Rev. Dr. Theophil Anand, Additional Principal, also offered his felicitations. The conference was meticulously organized under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Maria Antonyraj, Principal and Lt. Dr. K. Sivakumar, NCC Officer of the college, along with Cadet’s caretakers Dr. Shailaja and Dr. Angeline Mary, who coordinated all arrangements for the state-level event. Several sessions of discussions, presentations, knowledge-sharing and colorful cultural programmes of NCC cadets of various institutions were held during the conference. The programme concluded successfully with the rendition of the NCC Song followed by National Anthem.
