The Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications organized a three-day workshop on “MEAN Stack Web Application Development” between 1st and 3rd December, 2025. The sessions were handled by Dr. D. Ravindran, Former Vice-Principal and Associate Professor, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, an expert in full-stack and emerging web technologies. Students from B.Sc. Computer Science (Shift–I), BCA, MCA, and M.Sc. Computer Science actively participated in the workshop. The programme was arranged by the respective Heads of the Departments and coordinated by Prof. J. John Arockiaraj, Head, B.Sc. CS (Shift–I). Across six intensive sessions, participants were introduced to the evolving landscape of web development and the need for full-stack skills. The workshop covered the MEAN stack environment, including Angular for front-end development, Node.js and Express.js for building RESTful services, and MongoDB for database operations. Hands-on training enabled students to design user interfaces, develop API endpoints, perform CRUD operations using MongoDB Compass, and test APIs using POSTMAN. On the final day, participants integrated all components—Angular front-end, Node/Express APIs, and MongoDB database—to develop a functional MEAN-based web application. The sessions were highly interactive and practice-driven, giving students real-time exposure to modern full-stack development workflows.

The workshop provided a valuable learning experience, equipping participants with industry-relevant skills and strengthening their understanding of scalable web application development.
