The PG and Research Department of English (Shift II) in collaboration with the English Movie Club, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized a film screening titled “Gendered Realities on Screen: Film Screening” on 5th December 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Dr. J. Mary Jenif, Head, Department of English and faculty members graced the event. The film “Laapataa Ladies” was screened as it offers a compelling portrayal of the multiple layers of gender roles, identity formation, patriarchy, social expectations, and women’s struggle for self-realization. Dr. U. Maria Liny Jenifer and Dr. S. Rajeshwari coordinated the event.
