The AICUF (Shift – II) of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur successfully organized a Speech Competition on the occasion of National Voters Day and a Drawing Competition on the theme “Importance of Education” on January 22, 2026, at Thanthi Periyar Hall.

The event was graced by Dr. A. Royal Edward Williams, Nodal Officer – ELC and Associate Professor of Economics, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, as the Resource Person. In his address, Dr. Williams highlighted the significance of National Voters Day, emphasizing informed voting, ethical citizenship, and the role of youth in strengthening democratic values. He also stressed that education is the foundation for social awareness, responsible decision-making, and inclusive development. Ms. V. Merlin Nivethitha did Master of the Ceremony, Mr. Y, Bharanidharan welcomed the gathering and Mr. M. Monorajan proposed the Vote of thanks to the gathering from AI & ML Department. Mrs. C. Elavarasi, President of AICUF introduced the resource person to the gathering.

The AICUF Students from various departments participated enthusiastically in both competitions. The speech competition provided a platform for students to articulate their views on democracy, voting rights, and civic responsibility, confidence, and public speaking skills. The drawing competition witnessed creative and thought-provoking visual representations reflecting the importance of education in personal growth, social equality, and national progress.

The event coordination was efficiently carried out by the Organising Secretaries, Mrs. C. Elavarasi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, and Mr. Kamesh U., Assistant Professor, Department of English. Their efforts ensured smooth conduct and active student engagement throughout the programme. The event successfully achieved its objective of fostering civic awareness and highlighting the importance of education among students, leaving a meaningful impact on the participants.
