A Drug Awareness Rally was successfully organised by the Tirupattur District Administration with the objective of creating awareness among the public, especially youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free life. The rally witnessed active participation from various schools and colleges across Tirupattur District, highlighting collective social responsibility.
From Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, a total of 150 students of AICUF (All India Catholic University Federation) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC), Shift – II actively participated in the rally. The students were accompanied and guided by Mr. U. Kamesh, Assistant Professor of English and Vice President of AICUF (Shift – II), Mr. V. S. Jayakumar Paul Bosco, President of RRC (Shift – II), and Dr. J. Jayachithra, Vice President of RRC (Shift – II).
The rally was flagged off by Tmt. K. Sivasoundaravalli, I.A.S., District Collector of Tirupattur, from the District Collector Office. The rally proceeded through key public locations including Tirupattur Central Bus Stand, Railway Station Road, passing District Court and District Government Hospital, and finally concluded at the District Collector Office.
During the rally, students raised strong slogans against drug usage and carried placards displaying powerful messages on drug awareness and prevention. Their enthusiastic participation attracted public attention and effectively conveyed the message of saying “No to Drugs” and “Yes to Life.”
The rally served as an impactful platform for students to express their social concern and contributed significantly to spreading awareness among the general public. The programme reinforced the role of educational institutions in promoting social awareness, discipline, and responsible citizenship.
