A Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Interdisciplinary Research in English Language and Literature” was conducted from 19th to 23rd January 2026 by the PG and Research Department of English, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The programme commenced on 19th January 2026 with an Inaugural Address delivered by Prof. N. Aruldoss, Head, Department of English (Shift-I). The first technical session was led by Dr. J. John Love Joy from St. Joseph’s College, Trichy, who spoke on “Portfolio Assessment for Language Acquisition.” On 20th January 2026, Rev. Dr. K. A. Maria Arokiaraj, Principal, Don Bosco Arts College, Chennai, delivered an insightful lecture on “Environmental Communication in ELT.” The third day, 21st January 2026, featured Dr. J. Jehoson Jiresh from Christ University, Bengaluru, who addressed “Rebuilding English Studies for Digital Futures through Posthuman Pedagogy.” The session on 22nd January 2026 was handled by Dr. Sathyaraj Venkatesan, NIT, Trichy, focusing on the emerging field of “Medical Humanities.” On the final day, 23rd January 2026, Dr. P. Boopathi from the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, delivered a lecture on “An Introduction to Disability Studies.” The FDP concluded with a Valedictory Address by Dr. J. Mary Jenif, Head, Department of English (Shift-II). About 97 external and 50 internal members across the nation attended the event. E-certificates were issued to the participants. The programme was successfully coordinated by Mr. V. Madhan Kumar (Shift I) and Mr. S. Saravanan (Shift II), Department of English, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur.
