The Department of History at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized an invited lecture on the topic “The Historical Significance of Tirupattur District” on 12th February 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Pope Francis Hall. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Sneha, Head of the Department of History. The Chief Guest was formally introduced by Mr. K. Ambedkumar (II B.A. History). Dr. Sneha and Dr. S. Harikrishnan honoured the Resource Person with a memento. The resource person, Dr. G. Mohan Gandhi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), delivered a highly informative and insightful lecture on the historical importance of Tirupattur District. He elaborated on the ancient roots of the region, highlighting its cultural, political, and archaeological significance. The session was highly engaging and informative. Students actively participated in the interaction session that followed the lecture, asking questions about the rock findings, ancient place names, and the historical transformation of Tirupattur district.
