World Cancer Day was observed on 4 February 2026 at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The programme was organised by YRC – Shift II with the objective of creating awareness about cancer and promoting preventive health measures among the college community. As part of the observance, the student volunteers actively engaged in designing and preparing informative posters that highlighted the causes, warning signs, preventive strategies, and the importance of early detection and timely treatment of cancer.
The posters also carried motivational messages supporting cancer survivors and encouraging healthy lifestyle practices such as regular medical check-ups, balanced diet, physical activity, and avoidance of harmful habits. These posters were displayed at prominent locations across the campus to ensure maximum visibility and impact among students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff.
The initiative successfully created awareness and encouraged discussions on the significance of early screening and responsible health practices. The active participation and teamwork of the YRC volunteers reflected their strong sense of social responsibility and commitment to community service. The observance of World Cancer Day thus served as a meaningful step towards educating the campus community and spreading awareness about the importance of cancer prevention and care.
