Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, in collaboration with Don Bosco Social Action and Research Centre, Don Bosco Siharam, Tiruvannamalai, organized a one-day training programme under the BRAVE (Building Resilience and Vocational Excellence) project on 13th April 2026 at the DB Centre Hall. The programme focused on “Socio Economic, Political and Women’s Rights”, specially designed for women. The event commenced at 10.00 a.m. with registration and tea, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all participants. This was followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu at 10.30 a.m., marking the formal beginning of the programme.

The welcome address and honouring of the resource person was delivered by Rev. Dr. Shanmugam SDB, Director – DEEDS, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, who emphasized the importance of empowering women through awareness, resilience, and rights-based education. At 10.45 a.m., Mr. Ambrose, Coordinator of the BRAVE Project, DBSARC, Tiruvannamalai, presented the programme orientation and explained the objectives of the training. The main technical sessions were handled by Mr. A. Magimai Albert, MSW, Medical and Psychiatric Counsellor, HRE Coordinator, DBSARC, Tiruvannamalai. The first session began at 11.00 a.m., where he highlighted socio-economic challenges, political participation, and the significance of women’s rights in contemporary society. After an engaging discussion, a short break was provided from 12.00 p.m. to 12.15 p.m. The second session resumed at 12.15 p.m., continuing the discussion with practical insights, case-based learning, and motivational guidance to help women build confidence and resilience in their personal and social lives. The sessions were highly interactive and encouraged participants to understand their legal, social, and economic rights. The programme successfully enhanced awareness on women’s empowerment and social justice. The training concluded with lunch and departure at 1.30 p.m.
