Department of Extension Education and Services, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, in collaboration with the District Industries Centre (DIC), Tirupattur, organized an “Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme for Women” on 18th May 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the DB Centre of the college campus. The programme aimed to create awareness among women about entrepreneurship opportunities, self-employment initiatives. The programme commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, creating a respectful and positive atmosphere for the gathering. Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, Director, Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS), warmly welcomed the dignitaries, resource persons, and SHG members. In his welcome address, he emphasized the importance of empowering women through entrepreneurship and highlighted the role of educational institutions in creating awareness about self-employment and economic development.

The chief resource person for the programme was Dr. M. Ramamoorthy, M.E., Ph.D., General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Tirupattur. He delivered an inspiring and informative session on entrepreneurship development, government schemes for start-ups, financial assistance, subsidy opportunities, and the importance of self-employment among women. He encouraged the participants to make use of government initiatives and develop confidence to become successful entrepreneurs. Mr. K. Arivazhagan, Project Manager, DIC, Tirupattur, provided practical guidance on project preparation, business registration procedures, financial planning, and the various entrepreneurial support services available through the District Industries Centre. Mr. T. Ramesh, Assistant Engineer, DIC, Tirupattur, also addressed the gathering and explained the technical support and infrastructural facilities provided by the government for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter SDB, Principal, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, presided over the programme and appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of Extension Education and Services in organizing such a meaningful programme for women empowerment. Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand SDB, Additional Principal, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, participated as Guest of Honour and encouraged the women participants to utilize their talents, skills, and opportunities effectively for their personal growth and social upliftment. Mr. Karunakaran, SHC Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, resource persons, organizers, and participants for their valuable presence and contribution towards the successful conduct of the programme. At the end of the programme, the National Anthem was played. A group photo was taken with the dignitaries, organizers, and participants to commemorate the successful conduct of the programme.
