Department of Extension Education and Services, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized the “Bridging Technology and Education: Interactive Smart Board Training Programme” for the teachers of Government Higher Secondary Schools, Kasinayakanpatti and Kethandapatti on 08 June 2026 at 10.00 a.m. The programme was conducted as part of the project “Strengthening Education Facilities – Enhancing Learning Outcomes through Digital Interactive Boards in Two Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSS) – Kethandapatti and Kasinayakanpatti in Tirupattur District, Tamil Nadu,” funded by NABFINS Ltd., Bengaluru and implementing partners NAB Foundation and DEEDS, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) Tirupattur.

The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, invoking blessings for the successful conduct of the training programme. The participants included teachers from both beneficiary schools, representatives from Sacred Heart College, and resource personnel associated with the implementation of the digital learning initiative. The highlight of the programme was the hands-on training session conducted by Mr. Vijay Raj Selvaraj from Epson Company. He provided comprehensive training on the effective use of Interactive Smart Boards in classroom teaching and learning. The session covered the operational features of the smart board, integration of multimedia resources, creation of interactive lessons, digital annotation tools, and methods for enhancing student engagement through technology-enabled learning. Teachers were given practical demonstrations and opportunities to explore the functionalities of the smart board directly, enabling them to gain confidence in utilizing the technology for classroom instruction.

The resource person emphasized innovative teaching strategies that can be implemented through digital interactive boards to improve learning outcomes, classroom participation, and collaborative learning experiences. The training enabled teachers to understand how technology can transform conventional teaching methods into more dynamic and student-centered learning environments. Following the hands-on session, an interactive Question and Answer Session was organized. Teachers actively participated by raising queries related to the operation, maintenance, and educational applications of the smart boards. Mr. Vijay Raj Selvaraj clarified their doubts and provided practical suggestions for integrating digital tools into daily teaching practices.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks jointly proposed by Mr. Kulandaisamy, Headmaster of Government Higher Secondary School, Kasinayakanpatti, and Mr. Senthil Kumar from Government Higher Secondary School, Kethandapatti. They expressed their sincere gratitude to NABFINS Ltd., Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur and NAB Foundation, the resource person Mr. Vijay Raj Selvaraj, and all participants for their valuable contribution to the success of the programme. They also appreciated the initiative for empowering teachers with modern educational technology and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in government schools. Total number of participants from Kasinayakanpatti 35 teachers and Kethandapatti 16 teachers.
