“Education for a Greater Nation.”
The Inauguration of the Academic Year 2026 - 2027 of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, was held on 15th June 2026 at 10.15 a.m. in Kamarajar Arangam under the theme “Education for a Greater Nation.” The programme marked the official commencement of the new academic year and welcomed the students into the college community.
The programme began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a prayer service led by Rev. Dr. S. Xavier Raj, SDB, Campus Minister, invoking God's blessings upon the institution, staff, and students for the new academic year.
Rev. Fr. Stanley Lawrence Ignatius, SDB, Rector and Secretary, welcomed the gathering. In his address, he felicitated the participants and introduced the Salesian Fathers to the students, highlighting the rich educational heritage and values of the Salesian mission.
The office bearers for the academic year 2026–2027 were introduced by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Principal, who encouraged students to actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities and contribute positively to campus life.
A significant highlight of the programme was the release of the college journals and books showcasing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and research, led by Dr. Nahren Manuel, Dean of Research.
Rev. Dr. Don Bosco Lourdusamy, SDB, Provincial and Chairman, delivered the message for the new academic year. Emphasizing the theme “Education for a Greater Nation,” he encouraged students to pursue knowledge with dedication, cultivate moral values, and become responsible citizens committed to nation-building.
The college rules and regulations were read by Dr. K. Parthibaraja, Head, Department of Tamil, who explained the academic and disciplinary expectations of the institution and urged students to uphold the values and standards of the college.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. A. Merceline Anita, Dean of Women Students, who expressed gratitude to the management, faculty members, staff, students, and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the event.
