The National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur and National Service Scheme (NSS) collaboration with Lions Club of Tirupattur Host and Indian Institute of Public Administration [IIPA] had celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 on 21st June 2026 (Sunday) at 06:30am in Sacred Heart College Ground and Don Bosco Indoor Stadium at College campus in a special way in order to create awareness and importance of Yoga in human life. This International Day of Yoga program had planned and organized by Cap. Dr. K. Sivakumar, Associate NCC – Officer, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur and National Service Scheme (NSS) of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, as per the directions given by Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Vellore, The Commanding Officer of 12 (TN) Battalion NCC, Salem and the Principal, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur.
Dr. L. Thenmozhi M. A., M. Ed., M. Phil., Ph. D, Professor in SKY Yoga, YCB Level 1, 3, 6 Qualified and Miss. S. Geetha, M. Sc Assistant Professor of Yoga and Yoga Trainer, SKY Yoga, Tirupattur had been the Yoga Mistresses performed various HASANHAS. 103 Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) NCC Cadets of Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, 200 NSS Volunteers both boys and girls along with 500 college students both boys and girls including 50 Junior Division boys from Government Boys Hr. Sec. School, Uthangarai, Krishnagiri District have taken part in Yoga Day Programme.
This important occasion started with the welcome address given by Cap. Dr. K. Sivakumar, Associate NCC – Officer, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur and Felicitation address given by Rev. Fr. Stanley Lawrence Ignatius. SDB Rector & Secretary, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur followed by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter. SDB Principal, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur headed the program and Rtn. K. M. Subramaniam, Chairman, The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Lion. K. Amirthalingam, President, and Lion. Er. K. Vijayabanu, Incoming president, Lion Club of Tirupattur Host had introduced Yoga Mistresses and the important officer bearers.
Around 20 Ex. NCC cadets had participated as Alumni. Dr. A. Xaveir Susai Raj, Secretary, and Mr. Arul Dass, Treasurer, The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) Tirupattur Local branch. Ln. C. R. Christy Anandan DC Member, Lions Club of Tirupattur Host, NSS Programme Officers, and Non – Teaching staff members also participated in this auspicious occasion. Finally, the International Day of Yoga program came to end at 07:45am with the Vote of thanks given by Rev. Fr. S. Daniel Ambrose. SDB Vice Principal, [Shift – I] and Dr. G.
