Report on Distribution of Scholarships to Gypsy Students

Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, in collaboration with Don Bosco Foundation, Chennai, organized the Distribution of Scholarships to Gypsy Students on 29th July 2026 at 5.00 p.m. in the college campus. The programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Ignatious Stanley Lawrence, SDB, Rector and Secretary, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, as the Chief Guest. The programme was coordinated by Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, SDB, Director, Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS). As part of the institution's commitment towards inclusive education and the empowerment of marginalized communities, scholarships were distributed to deserving Gypsy students to encourage them to continue their education without financial constraints.

During the programme, a total scholarship amount of Rs. 27,200/- (Rupees Twenty-Seven Thousand Two Hundred only) was distributed to the selected students. The scholarships were handed over by Rev. Fr. Ignatious Stanley Lawrence, SDB, Rector and Secretary, along with Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, SDB, Director – DEEDS. Addressing the gathering, the Rector emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives and encouraged the students to pursue their academic goals with dedication and confidence. He also appreciated the continuous support extended by the Don Bosco Foundation, Chennai, in promoting educational opportunities for underprivileged children. The scholarship beneficiaries and their parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Don Bosco Foundation, Chennai, and Department of Extension Education and Services, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, for their generous support and encouragement.
