REPORT ON FIRST YEAR STUDENTS` PARENTS` MEETING SHIFT - II

First Year Students’ Parents’ Meeting was organised by Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur – 635 601, Shift-II, on 22 August 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Kamarajar Arangam. The meeting was organised to provide an opportunity for parents of first-year students to interact with the college administration and faculty members and to understand the academic environment, expectations and responsibilities associated with students’ education. The programme commenced with a Prayer Song presented by Dr. Henston & Co., Department of English, seeking God’s blessings for the successful conduct of the meeting. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. B. Govindan, Associate Dean & Department of Mathematics, Sacred Heart College. He warmly welcomed the parents and dignitaries and highlighted the importance of cooperation between parents and the institution in ensuring the academic and personal development of students.

This was followed by a Felicitation Address by Rev. Fr. Ignatius Stanley Lawrence, SDB, Rector and Secretary, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur. He welcomed the parents and emphasised the values and educational mission of the institution. Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, SDB, Additional Principal, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur., delivered the second Felicitation Address. He highlighted the significance of higher education and encouraged parents to support their children in maintaining regular attendance, academic discipline and active participation in college activities.

The major session of the programme, Instructions and Interaction, was conducted by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Principal, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur. The session provided parents with important instructions and guidance concerning students’ academic progress, discipline, attendance, participation in institutional activities and overall well-being. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. R. Raja, Department of Tamil, who expressed sincere gratitude to the college management, dignitaries, faculty members, parents and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the meeting. The programme concluded with the College Anthem. Dr. G. Savitha, Department of Tamil, served as the Master of Ceremony and coordinated the proceedings.
