REPORT ON BLOOD DONATION CAMP (RRC, YRC and Department of Extension Education and Services)

Red Ribbon Club, Youth Red Cross and Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS), Shift-II, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, in collaboration with the Government Community Health Centre, Andiyappanur, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 16 September 2026 at 10.00 a.m. at Oasis. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraging students towards saving lives through regular blood donation. The programme was conducted under the guidance and patronage of Rev. Fr. Ignatious Stanley Lawrence SDB, Rector and Secretary, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur; Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter SDB, Principal; and Rev. Dr. Shanmugam SDB, Vice-Principal (Administration), Shift-II and Convener.

Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand SDB, Additional Principal encouraged everyone to donate blood to save lives with his felicitation address. The medical team and health personnel from the Government Primary Health Centre, Andiyappanur, and the Blood Bank, Government Hospital, Tirupattur, extended their support for the successful conduct of the camp. Dr. P. Soundariya, MBBS, Block Medical Officer, Government Primary Health Centre, Andiyappanur; Dr. Rambalaji, MBBS; Dr. Kumaravel, MBBS, Blood Bank Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Tirupattur; were associated with the programme.

The camp emphasized the message that every blood donor is a hero, highlighting the vital role of voluntary blood donation in meeting the needs of patients during medical emergencies, surgeries, accidents and other critical situations. The organizers motivated eligible students and participants to donate blood voluntarily and promoted awareness about the importance of maintaining adequate blood reserves in hospitals. Mrs. C.S. Kalpana, M.A., M.Phil., Integrated Counselling & Testing Centre, Government Primary Health Centre, Andiyappanur, proposed the vote of thanks. The event was meticulously organized by Rev.Dr. Shanmugam, Vice-Principal (Admin), Red Ribbon President Dr. JayaChithra,Vice-President Prakash, and Youth Red Cross President Dr.Anandraj and Vice-President Dr.Angeline. The master of ceremony was done by Master Velmurugan.
