On 19/07/2023, the Department of English, Shift I, English Language Association, organized a Webinar for the undergraduate students. The Head of the Department, Mr. N. Aruldoss, welcomed the participants and introduced the resource person.

The resource person was Dr. S. Veeramani, Assistant Professor of English, Government Arts College, Lalgudi. The webinar commenced at 6 p.m. More than eighty participants registered their attendance.

The resource person in his lecture, highlighted the importance of learning how to refer to a dictionary. He said that reading the meaning of a word alone will not suffice. He also insisted on the need for learning the phonetic symbols of a word, as it is necessary to know the variations in pronouncing a word. Moreover, he suggested that, the students should possess a good dictionary; to have the real feel of learning and remembering. The webinar concluded at 7.30 p.m. with the Vote of Thanks.
